Teresa Cottam speaks to Amdocs’ Mike Lurye to get the lowdown on the new AIDA platform.
Our recent post Amdocs’ Big Idea: It’s BI Jim But Not As We Know It was very popular with our readers, so we thought that we’d follow it up by trying to find out more about what Amdocs is up to with AIDA. In this interview I spoke to Amdocs’ Mike Lurye who gave me the lowdown on what the thinking is behind AIDA, what its USPs are, and what you can expect to see with regards to AIDA in the coming months.
For those of you who want to find out more, please keep watching this space and we’ll update you as more information becomes available. If you’d like to hear our opinion on AIDA then check out our previous post. If you’d like to get more information about this initiative from Amdocs then please email Mike on michael.lurye[at]amdocs.com.

Hmm. Isn't this what Ontology.com are doing?
@Mark Swanborough
Hi Mark
Yes, I was hoping that Ontology would answer this question themselves.
I think that the question on my lips is: is this actually a platform or a consultancy project? Given that most of Amdocs’ revenues come from services they are obviously looking for a new source of revenues and data-level issues (discovers, integration, quality, governance) seem like a fertile source of future revenue when you consider what a big tier 1 telco may spend on trying to get to grips with its data layer.
For those that aren’t familiar with Ontology they’re a data discovery vendor that is able to provide an accurate and up-to-date map of a telco’s real and dynamic data landscape, showing how sets of data relate to one another, finding relationships, patterns and so on. This is achieved relatively quickly and easily which obviously then enables lots of other good stuff to happen. Hopefully the Ontology guys will give you their opinion on this…
